Font Choices

There are endless choices for fonts. Trying a new one is easy and can breathe new life on your website, publications and more.

Example Source

One of my favourite places to find new fonts is Google Fonts.

Sometimes you need something a little different but still professional. Simply sort by most popular and find simple but unique styles that won’t offend or overwhelm.

Eject a CD from a Mac without a Mac Keyboard

How to eject a CD from a Mac without a Mac KeyboardI was working on a customer’s Mac the other day and came across this issue as I was using a PC keyboard and needed to eject an installation CD.

There are two ways in which you can do this;

  • Using a PC keyboard you need to hold down F12 as you restart the Mac to eject a CD/DVD
  • The other option is to hold down the left mouse button as you restart the Mac.

Encrypt a volume in OSX Lion

FileVaultFileVault 2 got a big overhaul with OS X Lion, and one of the new features is the ability to encrypt an entire volume rather than just a your Home directory.

You can access it by going into System Preferences, Personal, Security & Privacy and then the FileVault tab.  Turn it on and enter a recovery key to encrypt your whole volume.
